Moving To Wetherby
Situated at the far north east of the county of West Yorkshire, Wetherby is still part of the Leeds Metropolitan Borough despite being over 10miles away from Leeds city centre. On the banks of the River Wharfe, the name Wetherby is supposed to translate as the “settlement on the bend of a river”. Wetherby is famous as a post on the Great North Road as a midway point between London and Edinburgh. Now the charming town is bustling with new flats and restaurants, but it also gives its name to the classic fish and chip restaurant “The Wetherby Whaler”.
