Moving to Cookridge

As mentioned previously, Cookridge and Tinshill are largely residential areas with mixed types of housing. This residential area has led to a good level of local and independent amenities around the area as well as nearby Horsforth and Holt Park.

Nearby school Ralph Thorseby takes its name from the 17th century Leeds born merchant and author who is widely seen as being the first historian of the city of Leeds. Thorseby described Cookridge as a village four miles from Leeds and three from Otley that was one part of the possessions of Kirkstall Abbey. He noted traces of a roman road and interesting paths in Moseley Wood.
